Where do I start? Well, how about the beginning? Maybe in some way, I'll untwist what was going on in my head before, during, and after the DM episode. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Here goes nothing! One day, I was swiping away through Tinder...yes, the dating app. What can I say, I was looking for a potential that could be my Valentine or maybe a husband. I know I know. Too much to expect from a dating app with a hookup reputation. Anyway, I was swiping left and right until I was given an opportunity to Super Like one out of four guys. For anyone that is not familiar with what I'm talking about, it's when a Super Like screen pops up with four guys that were selected for me based on the type of men Tinder thinks I'm attracted to.

Me being so curious and a sucker for a nice face, I began to go into these four profiles to see what they were about. Well, I came across two whom appeared to be right up my alley and started analyzing on which one would seem like a better fit for me. I swipe right and guess what? Nothing happens. No "You've been Matched". I didn't feel bad at all about it but there was some regret. A regret that I may never see this guy again until I remembered that his Instagram was referenced on the page and his name flashed in my head like neon colors.

Honestly, I wish I hadn't gone to the social media page because my interest in this guy went up like a thermometer after the fact. As I think about this more while I'm putting my fingers to work on this keyboard, the sentimentally of one of his posts touched me. I know. I'm a sucker but what can I say? To hear about a time of struggle and to over come it by finding a passion through helping people is good stuff. Admit it! It's good stuff. Looking at the pictures and reading many of his posts, the reaching out to him thought sprouted out of the ground of my brain. Sliding into someone's DM was and still is not my thing. Heck, my Instagram wasn't even active at the time!

After a couple of close friends gave me the extra push to do it, I digged all of the courage that could be mustered out of me and pressed the send button. Mind you, I had been working on what to send this guy for days. I was told that my initial message was too long and ended up sending him a shorter message. The message went a little something like this, "Hello. Hope your evening is going well. I came across your profile and wanted to reach out. You seem like a cool guy that I would like to get to know." Oh shoot, I have to take this phone call but if you want to know what happened next, please be on the look out for my next post. This story will need to be continued...
